This policy explains how WeStash: Budget & Savings handles your data. It applies to the app on every platform it is published on.

Data on your device

Your accounts, transactions, budgets, savings goals and settings are stored on your device.

Sharing with your partner (optional)

If you turn on sync with your partner, WeStash signs your device in anonymously: no email, name or password is asked. So that your budget reaches your partner's device, it then stores on Supabase, our database provider: your household and its invite code, the display name you choose, and the budget data the app syncs between you (accounts, transactions, budgets, recurring expenses, categories and savings goals). Only you and the partner who joined your household can read it. If you never turn sync on, none of this leaves your device.

Usage analytics

WeStash sends usage events to Mixpanel, in its EU data centre, to see how the app is used and what to improve: the app being opened, the steps of the onboarding and the paywall, and a transaction being added (whether it is an income or an expense and whether it repeats, never its amount or description). The events carry the app's language and an anonymous identifier.

Purchases

Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to know which purchases belong to your device: it receives an anonymous identifier and your purchase history, never your payment details.

What we do not do

WeStash shows no ads. We do not sell your data, and we share it with no one beyond the providers named above, only to run these features.

How long it is kept

Data on your device is removed when you uninstall the app. Synced data is kept while your household uses it: turning sync off on your device stops it, but leaves the shared data in place for your partner. To have your household's synced data deleted, write to contact@independence.dev with your invite code and we will delete it within 30 days. Analytics events are kept only as long as needed to understand how the app is used.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time for a copy of the data synced from your device, or for its deletion, by writing to contact@independence.dev.

Children

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you think a child has shared personal data through WeStash, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
