Free account deletion page generator for Google Play

If people can create an account in your app, Google Play wants a web page where they can ask to delete it without reinstalling anything. Generate that page here, then copy it or host it at a stable URL for your Data safety form.

  • Can people create an account?
  • Does it collect usage analytics?
  • Does it show ads?

Delete your account

There is no account to delete

Your app does not have user accounts, and nothing you do in it is sent to us.

Everything the app stores lives on your device. To delete it, clear the app's data in your device settings or uninstall the app.

For questions about deleting your data, contact the developer through the app's store listing.

Why Google Play asks for an account deletion URL

If your app lets people create an account, anywhere in the app, Google Play requires two things:

  1. An in-app path to delete the account and its data, typically in account settings.
  2. A web link where users can request deletion without reinstalling the app. That is the delete account URL you declare in Play Console, and users can reach it from your store listing.

Google announced the rule in April 2023. Developers had until December 7, 2023 to complete the data deletion questions, with extensions available until May 31, 2024. Today it is simply part of publishing an app with accounts.

Deactivating or freezing the account doesn't count. Deletion means the account and the data attached to it, on your servers and at the providers you use, except what you have a disclosed reason to keep.

This account deletion page generator handles the web part. The in-app part is code you write.

What the deletion page must show

Google's requirements for the web page are short and specific. Here they are, with what the generated page does for each:

Google expects The generated page
The app or developer name as shown on your Google Play listing Names your app in the title and the introduction
A prominent pathway to request deletion Opens with deleting the account and how to ask for it
A working way to request deletion without the app An email from the address linked to the account, with the subject "Delete my account"
A link that loads without errors A public page, no login needed

The page also lists what is deleted (the account and profile, content created in the app, and usage data if you answered yes to analytics), what may be kept (records the law requires, anonymous statistics), and a timeframe of 30 days with a confirmation by email. Google requires you to disclose any data you keep and to handle requests within a reasonably quick period, so check that both match what you actually do.

If people must do something first, such as cancelling a subscription, add that step. And give the generator an inbox someone reads: a way to request deletion only counts if somebody answers it.

Where to declare the URL in Play Console

The link goes in Play Console, on the App content page, in the Data safety form, when you answer the data deletion questions.

Before you paste it, three checks:

  • Open it in a private window, on a phone. No login, no cookie wall covering the page, no 404.
  • Make sure the app name on the page matches your store listing.
  • Use the same retention wording as your privacy policy. If one says 30 days and the other says 90, fix one of them.

Hosted on AppTap, the page lives at apptap.me/yourapp/delete-account, next to your privacy policy, terms and support pages. The URL stays fixed while you edit the text, and the page opens in English or French depending on the visitor's language.

Apple works differently: deletion inside the app

App Store Connect has no field for a deletion URL. Guideline 5.1.1(v), enforced since June 30, 2022, says that if your app supports account creation, it must also offer account deletion within the app. A web page does not satisfy that rule on its own.

What App Review looks for:

  • A delete option inside the app, easy to find, usually in account settings.
  • Real deletion, not deactivation, of the account and its associated personal data.
  • No email, phone call or support chat as the way to delete, unless your app is in a highly regulated field such as banking or healthcare.
  • A hand-off to a website only if it lands on the page where deletion is completed, not on a homepage or on a page that asks people to send an email.

So the page you generate here covers Google's web requirement, not Apple's. On iOS, your delete button has to start the deletion itself. Build it once against your backend and the same button also covers Google's in-app path.

If your app has no accounts

No accounts, no deletion URL: the requirement only applies when people can create an account. You still answer the data deletion questions in the Data safety form, and your privacy policy should explain how data can be removed.

If you answer "no" to accounts in the generator, the page says so plainly: there is no account to delete, and here is how to clear the app's data on the device. It's a useful page to point to from your support page when someone asks.

For a side-by-side look at both stores' rules, read the Google Play account deletion URL guide. The deletion page pairs with a privacy policy and a support page, all under one AppTap link that's free for one app: get started.

Questions

For Google Play, yes: an email address is an accepted way to request deletion, as long as the page names the app and explains the steps. Apple does not accept email as the way to delete an account from the app, except in highly regulated fields.

No. Apple requires deletion to start inside the app. Use this page for Google Play, and build a delete option into the app for both stores.

Google asks for a reasonably quick period, and Apple asks you to tell people how long it takes. The generated page commits to 30 days, which is common; adjust the text if your process differs.

For Google Play, yes, if the deletion section is prominent, for example reached through an anchor link. A dedicated page is clearer for users and reviewers.

Yes. Generating and copying the text is free. Hosting it at apptap.me/yourapp/delete-account is part of Pro, from $4 a month billed yearly.
